Action Girl is my nickname or "brush name" if you will. My real name is Stacey Barich and I've been knee-deep in one kind of art or another for as long as I can remember. I've taken plenty of art classes throughout the years and have developed my own personal style which I describe as a combination of pop art, folk art and general silliness. I'm heavily influenced by the fabulous, big haired and colorful women here in Baltimore we like to call "Hons" and also by 50's and 60's pop culture.

Some of my favorite artists include Shag, Andy Warhol, Kenny Scharf, Big Daddy Roth, Jelene Morris, Gil Elvgren, Alberto Vargas and the list goes on and on…

In my free time I enjoy swing dancing, riding/working on my scooters, kooky cocktails, thrift shopping, and seeking out strange and unusual sights on the streets of Baltimore to inspire my next painting. To avoid being a "starving artist" I work for Agora Publishing during the day and also do some freelance web design. I'm married and a mother of one.
